Firmware Google Pixel / Google Pixel XL OPM1.171019.021 Firmware

Google's own Pixel and Pixel XL are now receiving March 2018 security patch update.  The update is seeding currently to all the devices. The device build number moves to OPM1.171019.021 for the Google Pixel/Pixel XL phones with this software. It is based on Android 8.1.Oreo. Now you can install the Pixel/Pixel XL OPM1.171019.021 update by both OTA (Over the air) mode and also by flashing the factory image given below.

The Pixel/Pixel XL OPM1.171019.021 March update is rolling via OTA. It will seed in phases to the users. You will receive the OTA update anytime soon on your phone. If not, then simply check for the OTA update manually by following the below-given instructions.



Follow the instructions to check the OTA update manually.

Steps to Install Pixel/Pixel XL OPM1.171019.021 Update

For installing the OTA Update on your device, you need to follow the below steps. Also, make sure download the required tools and drivers on your PC.


Requirements:

• Charge your phone up to 70% and more.
• Download the latest USB Drivers on your PC.
• Download and Install the ADB and Fastboot tool.
• Take a full backup on your phone before flashing the firmware.

To follow this method, you have to follow,

Pre-Requisite

• Enable the USB Debugging and OEM Unlock on your device.
•  Then unlock the bootloader of Pixel and Pixel XL.
• Download and Install the ABD and Fastboot drivers on your windows/MAC.

Steps to flash the update

Step-1   open the ADB fastboot folder on your PC. It may there either on your desktop or C:/ADB i.e. Windows C drive.

Step-2 Next step is to extract the files of  OPM1.171019.021 and move the files to ADB folder.

Step-3 Now in the same ADB fastboot folder, press and hold the ‘Shift” key and right-click on anywhere inside the folder to select ‘Open command window here.’

Step-4 In the command prompt windows need to enter a command for which your phone has to be connected to your computer system. The command is as follow:
   adb devices

Step-5 Using the following command boot your handset into bootloader mode.
adb reboot bootloader

Step-6 Your phone will now automatically reboot itself and enter the bootloader mode.

Step-7  Now begin the installation of OPM1.171019.021 on your Pixel/Pixel XL. Firstly, open the Android 8.1 files that are present in the folder of ADB and simultaneously locate the flash-all script. To run the files double click on it to begin the installing process on your phone.

Step-8 You will be asked to press any key to exit as soon as you are through with flashing the OPM1.171019.021 build. Please do not exit from the terminal unless you are asked to do so.

Step-9 Lastly, all you need to do is reboot your Android device. Now you will be running the latest Google Android Security patch level for March 2018 on Pixel/Pixel XL.
